This was one of the most beautiful moments for my Roo Suman. Her smile beamed of her pride like a flashlight turned onnnn!! Suman came to us, a good educated lady, wanting to do something different. Took the plunge to break the stereotypes and become a Roo. Then she graduated to become a TRAINER.
So whats so out of the world about being a TRAINER? When you have trained a lady how to drive, you would know.. when you have given wings of independence to a woman who was sick of being dependent on someone to drop her children to school everyday, you would know what I am talking about…when you have made a family secure, and the man of the home can now share his so called “manly responsibilities” with his wife, when you have received a whole lot of blessings and thank you’s, you would know…
This lady was someone who had learnt driving years back, but never had the confidence to drive on her own from so long now. Her family was going through a crisis, where her husband was constantly on travel for work, her father in law had just had a demise, and loads of responsibilities had caved in on them. This was the time she literally decided to take the steering wheel in her hand and break free of all her fears. Fears which were sown into her heart over the years. So we decided to assist her to drive her own car, simple things like taking her children to school and bringing them back. The same route, the same traffic everyday. The same parking issues everyday.
What came out from the exercise was a confident woman, who had control over her fate. What came out of this was a lovely mother who was finally getting quality time with her children and listening to all their stories on the way to and fro school. A few quality minutes in the chaotic lives we live.
What also came out from this was my Roo’s confidence, her pride, her contribution to the well being of somebody else’s life. Her contribution to a family to steal their time and spend it together, laugh together!!
